PROJECT / Angular
Microservices exploration
My own extension of an OpenClassrooms project: an API gateway, user and chat services, central authentication and WebSockets.
- Angular
- Java
- Spring Boot
- Microservices
- Keycloak
- WebSocket
Context and constraints
This repository is an architecture sandbox, separate from Monde de Devs. It starts from ideas in project 10 of the Lead Developer Java Angular program and goes further on my own. It says nothing about the architecture of the social app, and it is not client work.
Goal
I wanted to explore a working full-stack architecture with separate services for identity, profiles and real-time messaging.
Build
Architecture
An API gateway is the single entry point. It handles routing, security and calls to the internal services. Keycloak manages accounts, sign-in and roles. The user and chat services stay separate, each with its own data.
Application and real-time messaging
The Angular frontend calls the APIs through the gateway. The chat service handles conversations and real-time messages over WebSockets.
Outcome
Not yet measured. The repository shows the architecture and says nothing about production behavior. To measure it, I would record gateway latency and WebSocket message delivery under a simple load test, and publish the setup so anyone can reproduce the numbers.
Next iteration
If I continued this project, I would write short notes on why each boundary exists (gateway, identity, chat), then add the load test above.
